Tel Aviv, City, Carmel Market

Jerusalem, City, Old Town

En Gedi, Dead Sea

Israel became the most distant place from home which three friends and I went to visit in February in 2017. With backpacks and a minimal camera equipment, we traveled to three locations within our two-week stay. From Tel Aviv we went to Jerusalem and from there to a kibbutz at the Dead Sea in En Gedi. The Hebrew-Arab society was hardly opened to a deeper understanding in this short time and with these locations. With all the socio-political contradictions that pervade Israel's history and present, my documentary photography, which itself has been a symptom of a cautious and elusive gaze, could only tell in fragments.
